1 Day in Joshua Tree

DAY 6

The final leg of our road trip adventure began in Mesa, AZ at Alisha’s resort style apartment complex. After a quick workout in her apartment gym (we sanitized before, after, and wore masks the whole time), we ate some acai bowls/power shakes before hitting the road. Choosing to pivot our plan to go to Mesa, AZ ended up bringing us closer to our next destination since we were just 4 hours away from Joshua Tree.

Destination #6: Joshua Tree

We arrived in Joshua Tree at 5:30pm, just in time for the beautiful sunset. We had booked a Sound Bath and Cacao Ceremony through Airbnb Experiences which we were more than stoked for. The host was this angelic lady who had quit her job in Corporate America to build her own tiny home in the dessert and live off the grid. The experience was everything you would imagine + so much more being in the scenic dessert under the HUNDREDS OF STARS. Despite the cold, we were in awe with how many stars there were.

Pro Tip: Check the weather and bring layers! Despite being in the dessert, it was FREEZING when we went and we were underdressed, which came to be challenging once the sun set.

After picking up some delicious Mediterranean food to-go, we headed to our Airbnb for the night – a vintage trailer! Despite the cold, we loved this stay because the morning sunrise made it so worth it. We decided to complete our morning routines with a sunrise dip in the hosts’ hot tub. Pure bliss.

Pro Tip: The accommodations in Joshua Tree are all SO CUTE. Be sure to skip a traditional house or apartment and try something more unique.

Before heading out, we explored the area to see the animals our host had. We saw horses, goats, and chickens!

Not too far from us was The Noah Purifoy Desert Art Museum which consisted of 10 acres of environmental sculptures.

And before the final drive home, we picked up coffee and food. The perfect dessert adventure to end the trip!
