Page and Sedona in a Day
Day 5
DESTINATION #4: HORSESHOE BEND
Luckily, Page is a pretty small town and our Airbnb was less than 10-minute drive from Horseshoe Bend. We woke up early enough to do our morning routines, pack up the car, and see the beautiful sunrise over this state park.
Pro Tip: Horseshoe Bend now charges 10$ for entry but does NOT accept the National Park Pass
The beautiful overlook is naturally shaped like a horseshoe and is one of the most picturesque views I’ve seen. The hike was approximately an hour and it was super easy.
Pro Tip: Since the sun sets on the west, if possible, try to catch the sunset here.
We grabbed coffee and breakfast from LP Espresso before heading to Lake Powell Kayak Rentals to rent Kayaks and Stand Up Paddle Boards. Our plan was to kayak/SUP from Lake Powell to Antelope Canyon since the Canyon wasn’t accessible any other way at the moment. Unfortunately, this plan wasn’t able to be executed due to the store basically laughing at our attempt at dressing warm (clearly California girls despite Sarina claiming she’s a Boston girl now) and strongly suggesting against us proceeding. We decided to accept their recommendation and returned to our car and quickly pivoted our plan.
Within an hour of research and discussion, we decided that Alisha should cancel her flight back to her school and we should detour to drop her off while stopping by at Sedona. Once the flight was cancelled and navigation was set to Sedona, we began the journey to our next destination.
DESTINATION #5: SEDONA
Sedona was only 3 hours away and while the weather made it challenging for us to explore the area more. We ate lunch at The Hudson where we were surrounded by a beautiful view of the red rocks the city is known for.
Pro Tip: If weather is good during your visit to Sedona, AZ be sure to check out the vortexes, Red Rocks State Park, as well as Devil’s Bridge hike. Additionally, Sedona is known for spas and retreats!
After reaching Alisha’s apartment, we were so grateful for having pivoted our plan to see her home because we didn’t know she lived in a RESORT. It was fitting that we ended our night in her hot tub before calling it a night.
